Ah, the world of duality.

I'm playing/learning photography/video. I have a Sony a6000 and recently picked up a Canon EOS M. I've also been looking at budget lenses and it would be nice to try the same lens on each of the cameras but without needing to buy a lens for each camera.

I see that there are adaptors for lens (awesome!). But when you purchase the lenses, you can get the lens in either mount. I'm wondering if there is an advantage to say buying a Sony mount lens and using the adaptor for that on Canon or vice versa?

Thanks,

Bob

Its always better to use a lens that ie designed for a camera (brand). Using adapters can lead to some functions like autofocus not working/sluggish if you got it working. So, you have to check some reviews and advice online for the particular adapter you select for whichever brand and go with best option.
